I feel so privileged to have known Ruth and to have had the opportunity to learn from her and be part of her great work. She was a steadfast advocate for the underserved and vulnerable in society. She constantly used her knowledge, skills and extensive network to bring people together to innovate and make things better for people. When I think of Ruth I often think of her catchphrase 'there is no escape!', meaning that once she thought you would be a helpful person to help the people she was working with, you were in it for the long run! In our training meetings she was always supportive and encouraging. She inspired me to push boundaries and do things a bit differently. We talked often about Northern Ireland, a place she was very fond of. Thank you Ruth for many treasured discussions and memories. Rest in peace.
